Staycation at The Rockaway Hotel

2 min

Staycations should be a bigger thing than they are! I love flying but it was honestly so nice to getaway and not deal with the hassle of the airport, Uber, ears popping, babies crying etc. I also know that some people aren’t quite ready to fly yet but take your vacation days!

I recently stayed at the Rockaway Hotel for my best friend’s birthday and I cannot get over how cute this hotel is. Not only is it blocks from the beach, but it’s super modern. Upon arrival, they welcomed me with a glass of champagne, which I needed because the winds were trying to lift me off the ground! The lobby is gorgeous and I found out that they host marketplaces for local business owners to sell their products.

The rooms might look a little small but trust me, they didn’t really feel small. Especially because they had under the bed storage and my suitcase fit perfectly in one of the little corners of the room. The bed was super comfy (I knocked out in minutes) and the ocean facing balcony was the perfect situation for that 6:45am sunrise!

The nice part about this hotel is you really don’t have to leave it. While the pool hasn’t opened yet (it’ll be crazy in the summer), they have two restaurants, one on the roof, and one in the lobby with live music! The food was good, but the dim lighting and vibe is what sold me! I love a great overall experience. If you just need to get away from the madness, listen to the sound of the waves, and relax, I recommend this place for your next trip.
