New Year, New Lifestyle
/Happy 2017! I'm so excited for this new year because it starts the mark of a new slate, new changes, new ideas + more inspiration!Starting the year is always a wonderful thing, but it's seeing through all the goals we set that makes it more worthwhile. Now I know that we all start the year with very tangible goals, but somewhere they get lost in the sauce. I want you to know that it's okay if you don't achieve everything in one year, progress is still progress and what you really want to insure is that you're not neglecting your goals altogether. Here are some of the ways to keep yourself on track within the new year!
Always, and I mean always write your goals down.
Writing your goals down allows you to 1, remember them. 2, visualize them. and 3, make a clear plan. I've always written my goals down in a notebook or in my phone, but this year I wanted to take it a step further by creating a vision board! Vision boards ignite creativity within you as you plan for the year.
Break your goals down by quarters.Â
There are 4 quarters within the year. You know that famous line, "What are your short term goals? What are your long term goals?" Well this is where the quarters come into play. I've broken down my goals by months and know when I would like to achieve them. I did this mainly because I had a vision of redoing my room last year in April and it's now January of 2017 and nothing has been done. I set a goal to have that completed by this year April 2017.
If you don't want to sit and cut out scraps you can create your vision board on online sites such as PicMonkey and Fotor. Watch this tutorial from Elletoshea on how to create one online! Here's mine.
Measure how your goals can be attained.Â
For every goal that I have written down I want to know how I will be able to achieve it. Is my goal attainable? How do I plan on carrying it out? This allows you to create goals that are within reason at a specific season in your life. Example, I hope to have my own business one day, (long term goal). It would be difficult for me to attain that goal this year as I have other steps that need to be taken before starting a business.
Lastly, Create checkpoints!Â
If you have a plan to complete a goal by November of 2017, set up checkpoints in March and July to see if you're on track to have that goal achieved by November. Organization allows progress to be simplified.
I hope that you change your lifestyle this year and T H R I V E in 2017! That's the word for the year and I'm holding onto it and taking action to reach it, hope you will too!Xx!
