IMG_7048-2.jpg

I have a habit of always wanting to change my phone cases but never wanting to invest in 20 of them. This simple DIY allowed me to create Fashion Inspired Phone Cases that I can switch up whenever I like! Wanna give it a try? Then keep reading! What I love about this DIY is you only need one clear case. There's endless possibilities of designs that you can switch out at any time! Ooh and not to mention I made 3 cases for $15! Enough talking though let's get down to business. (Link to video is below!)FASHION INSPIRED CASES

Things you'll need for your Fashion Inspired Phone Cases:

Step One:

You can use any design you like, but I wanted something unique. I used a web based site called Pixlr (similar to Photoshop). Within Pixlr I adjusted the measurements to mimic an Iphone 6s (750 x 1334). One your measurements are set you'll want to remove the background for each item and print them separately.fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases

Step Two:

In terms of printing, adjust the paper size to 3 x 5, this will ensure that the design is printed in the appropriate size for and Iphone. I printed the wording and the grids onto the transparent labeling paper. For the background images, I printed them on white printer paper.

Step Three:

Measure the sheet protector to the Iphone and cut out the shape. Once the items are cut out lay them on the sheet protector and secure them with glue if needed. The items that are printed on the labels won't need any glue.fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases fashion inspired phone cases

Step Four:

After the items are secured onto the sheet protector, you can insert the protector into the phone case. Snap it on your phone and it will secure itself!fashion inspired phone casesfashion inspired phone casesThe sheet protectors are perfect for this project because they're thin and fit nicely within your phone case. They also allow you to create several designs and switch them out whenever you like! SWIMSUIT REVAMP

FotorCreated.jpg

FotorCreatedI'm not the biggest fan of letting go of clothes or shoes in good condition. So instead of tossing my simple, black swimsuit, I decided to give it a DIY makeover. Wanna try it? This is what you'll need.Mesh fabric (or the fabric of your choosing)PinsThreadFabric cutting scissors (regular scissors work too, just be careful)ChalkSewing Machine (alternative, elastic thread to sew by hand)A helping hand and you're ready to go!Step One:Make sure that you try on your swimsuit before making drastic cuts, it's better to be safe than sorry. While your swimsuit it on, mark with the chalk where you would like to cut on the front and back of the swimsuit. (This is where the helping hand comes in handy, haha, hand-y)DSCN1603Step Two:Fold the swimsuit in half and secure the front and back layer with a pin so that it doesn't move while you cut. For the bottom section of your swimsuit you want to angle your cut upwards to create a nice silhouette for the swimsuit. **Be sure to leave the sides of the swimsuit attached, we will remove them later.IMG_4147IMG_4150Step Three:Try on your swimsuit for the second time and ensure that you are satisfied with your cuts. Keep on the swimsuit and cover the open areas with your mesh fabric. It is best to measure how much mesh you will need with the swimsuit on being that the swimsuit's fabric is nylon and stretches to your body's shape!IMG_4153Step Four:Once the mesh fabric is cut, you want to secure it with pins to the swimsuit, making sure that the mesh fabric is on the inside of the and now you're ready to sew! Step Five:Be sure to switch to a zig zag stitch and align your swimsuit appropriately underneath the sewing machine needle. Also tug a little at the fabric as it is sewing.IMG_4158Attach all four sides/pieces and try on (repetitive, I know) your swimsuit once more before you cut off the side fabric. If you are satisfied, you may cut the sides off and secure your swimsuit with a second stitch.Viola! There you have it. A new redefined, sexy swimsuit!DSCN1641DSCN1640DSCN1639If you'd like a video tutorial of how to make this suit, then check it out here. DIY Mesh SwimsuitXx,Kelsley

Everyone knows that you have to be fabulously fashionable for NYFW! Not wanting to spending $$ on a completely new outfit for the shows, I decided to make a shirt that was inspired from a photo on IG. So with a little thread, some scissors, an $8 button up and a $1 sweater I created this top! (Be sure to click the link at the bottom to see how it was done)
